GREAT FALLS RAINBOW GARDEN CLUB

We meet the second Thursday of each month, September through May.  Our members and guests enjoy a lovely luncheon at 12:30 pm at the Meadow Lark Country Club in Great Falls. Our meetings include programs on such topics as horticulture, birds, floral design and conservation.

If you are interested in joining us for a meeting or one of our projects, please contact:

On the Tuesday preceding the monthly meeting. You will be most welcome!

Our Members enjoy the following activities

Planting annuals around the Cascade County Courthouse.  During National Garden Club Week in June we liven up the Courthouse grounds with annuals.

Helping Montana School for the Deaf and Blind (MSDB) students (who are all members of our Budding Geniuses Junior Garden Club) plant sensory plants on their resident campus.   We provide plants for their tables during Holidays and make corsages and boutonnieres for their graduation.  We also provide them pumpkins to decorate for Halloween.

Developing a Public Sensory Garden at The Kid’s Garden on Great Falls Westside.  This Sensory Garden features a variety of plants and materials to give the visitor the sensation of a beautiful sight, an interesting taste, a musical sound, a memorable smell and a gentle touch.  On Arbor Day we plant a tree in our Sensory Garden in a public ceremony.

Working at Eagle Mount, a recreational therapy program for special children and adults. We work with Eagle Mount to outline programs for various age groups to provide unique gardening experiences.

Sponsoring a second Junior Garden Club, the Cabbage Patch Kids.  Members teach these children the joy of gardening, conservation and helping others.

Taking a garden tour or farm tour to view outstanding gardens and yards.   We also visit organizations such as Fish, Wildlife & Parks and the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center to learn more about local conservation programs.

Enjoying a wide variety of programs at our monthly meetings featuring speakers on Horticulture, Conservation, Gardening Practices, Floral Design, Birds and Weed Control.

Funding a scholarship for a Montana horticulture student each year and hold a holiday bazaar and other fund raisers to support this project.   We model our application requirements after the Montana Federation of Garden Clubs Life Members’ Scholarship. For further information, please contact: Verna Kessner, Scholarship Chairman, at rainbowgardenclubgreatfallsmt@gmail.com.

We are a very active, fun-loving group!

We invite you to join us sometime soon!
